A day off

So a one of my managers took a day off today because she has tons going on and just needs a day to get things together, and I am sitting here wishing that I had an extra vacation day so that I could just get things done. Doesn't it sometimes seem that if there was just one extra day in the week dedicated to all those things that you want and need to get done then life would be so much easier? I think my day would be filled with finding frames for the hallway, cleaning my house, painting my hallway, painting the kitchen, putting up a tile back-splash in my kitchen, stripping all the nasty paint off the old original doors and then repainting them.... The list goes on and on, maybe I need more than one day. But for now these projects will have to wait for the summer when I will hopefully be more energized. Sometimes I can't wait to be able to stay at home with my future kids and be able to check things off my list one by one.

St. George

Well there are no pictures yet but I couldn't wait any longer to blog about our totally fun weekend. We left Thursday night and came home Monday afternoon. There were four couples total with Doug and Jill stopping in on their way to Salt Lake City.
The boys golfed twice, played tennis and made up games to entertain themselves, as usual. The girls shopped, got pedicures (which mine totally looks black, the color was supposed to be purple), shopped some more played tennis, read our books in the sunshine, and went to the Parade of Homes. I had never been to the Parade of Homes before and I LOVED IT! I loved it mainly because I love looking are other peoples homes and the way that it is laid out and decorated. We went to some amazing houses and some way over the top ones too. I have to say that my favorite feature was the windows. I love big open windows, it adds great natural light and it is so invigorating.
I have to say that it was so sad to leave. It was such a great mini vacation!

Ok so I totally forgot to mention some of the key activities that we did in St. George. Number one… food. Lucky Buffet, I think that Andrew was the only one that enjoyed this Chinese food. Pizza Factory where we celebrated Tiffany and Mindi's birthdays!! Cafe Rio and a crazy Brazilian place. Mindi, Tiffany and I also went and saw Definitely Maybe and it was so so so good, I totally recommend it. We also played Mafia which Mindi seriously rocks at the game. No one can beat her. And the wonderful hot tub!!
Can't wait until our next trip down there.

Finally

So when I first started dating Andrew I swear that we went to St. George like 5 times a year and I loved it. I had come to really enjoy the fun, relaxing, shopping, tennis, biking, (on Andrews part), pedicure getting excitement. We always go with Andrews best friends and there wives, which have now become some of my really great friends. And now we finally get to go again after a long absence of no St. George. I think that my body starts to go through withdrawals if I do not visit regularly. I can't wait until we all have kids and we can all meet up in St. George and then they can play and we can shop. It will be like our own little 2nd home compound. We love the kimbles! Thanks so much for having a rendezvous place for us to get together.

St. Valentines Day

So I have never been that into Valentines Day, maybe because the only worthy gifts that I ever got were from my parents, with the exception of Andrew of course, he is so thoughtful with his gifts and I love him so so so so much! Happy V-Day honey! . But I can say that my favorite thing about this day is looking at the date whether it is on a calendar, watch, phone, wherever it may be I love looking and seeing Feb. 14th. It makes me smile!
Feb. 14. 08.

Buffet

So I went to the lovely city of Reno this past week for a conference and I was so excited to go to the buffet. I kept thinking about all the different food options that I will have and being able to have 5 different plates surrounding me with all of my favorite food was such an exhilarating thought. We were staying at the Peppermill so that is the buffet we went to. After paying the $18 for the meal I grabbed a plate and wandered through all of the food selections, I wasn't really impressed. So I filled my plate up half-way with mashed potatoes, pizza, and some fruit and not really enjoying the selections that I had made I went to the desert bar. I realized a few things that night. 1. I am horrible at selecting food at a buffet. 2. Food at a buffet really isn't all that good. It reminds me of Little Ceases, there hot and ready pizza is not hot and was ready 4 hours ago. And 3. Only pay the outrageous amount for a buffet if someone else is paying for it. Thank you Granite Construction!

I think that Andrew and I should move to Paris or atleast go and visit. I have been telling Andrew this forever but it just won't sink in. Maybe someone else should try.

Books

So I have become a book junkie the last 3 weeks. A co-worker lent me the book QUEEN, which I couldn’t put it down and when I finished it I literally felt like a piece of me was missing and I immediately had to start up a new book. So here are the last two books that I have read in the past 3 weeks. Both are amazing books and both made me cry. As I was finishing up The Gift last night I kept gasping and getting teary eyed and Andrew would look at me and chuckle because he couldn't understand how I could get emotionally involved in a book. I told him that he didn't understand because he doesn't read. Anyway I recommend both of these books.
